new ideas and critisisms about the games

1.Introduction of planets ressources or technological depedences in order to differenciate planets importances.

2.possibilities for starbase or titans to destroy definitively the surface of planets and then it can brake technological or abilities depences to the destroyed planet.

3.System of stargates that can help you to teleport an army dirrectely to a far planet in order to attack or defend, your self

,could be also used against enemyes .

4.destroyed ships give metallic ressource.

5.possibilities to capture a planet without destroying it,it gives you all his ressources.

6.an ally can return him  if you pay.

7.Planets turns around their sun.

1. Interesting Idea.

2. Can't due to engine limitations.

3. Vasari already does that. Phase gates FTW!

4. Vasari also can do that if a capital ship is in the gravwell and the right tech is researched.

5. It would be nice.

6. Would be nice.

7. Was done at the very beginning of the game build. Was removed due to "unfunness" factor.

What do you mean exactly with point 1?

Concering point 3. Indeed the Vasari can, but would be nice if the other races could too. From a narrative viewpoint, I don't like it. Instantly teleporting doesn't really fit into the TEC and Advent culture.

He means that some planets will have uniqie resourses that are needed for certain ships/techs/abilities and that if you don't have a planet with that resourse then you cant get/use those ship/tech/ability.

Also artifacts would fit in this category.

Which, now that I think about it, can be done. Just set the research to needing a certain artifact and when that artifact is gone the research becomes null.

Given how much of a crap shoot planets can be, I don't think we want "strategic resources"...enough games are decided by the map, furthering the element of chance in sins is not something I'd favor....

I'm with Seleuceia on that one.  It's an interesting idea, but games already do come down to ownership of one or two strategic worlds.

SoaSE should go back to its original brief of providing a best of both words experience between RTS and 4X whilst scaling between average and high end PC hardware.

SoaSE Trinity (let alone vanilla) hasn't achieved that goal IMHO, if Rebellion does this I'll be there with bells on if its Monopoly/RISK in space again then I am sure some peeps will be happy with that whilst everyone else is playing BF3 or Arma3.

It could go either way for IC I hope it works out for everyone I think the market is ready for it, a little less of the ivory tower and more consumer research would go a long way IMHO.

One thing I thought of was to merge the tech tree and building. for instance: you tech up to two military labs and they are built at the same time.
