Cowardly Frigates

It may be because my friend and I LAN on a copy of Sins that is, to say the least, poorly updated, we use 1.05 because he is afraid of change and can't figure out Fileshack, but I constantly find one lonely Cobalt frigate, or maybe a Percheron carrier deciding that he left his lunchbox on the planet where he was conscripted and his mommy teleansibled him and told him that he should come back for it. In any case, the carrier isn't so bad as annoying, but when that single cobalt is constantly turning around rather than attacking the big honking battlecruiser behind it, it gets old. Fast. I guess the moral of the story is... Why?

You have a pirated version?

If not, use Impulse to update. Vanilla Sins is at 1.191, and you are in 1.05. UPDATE.

It's not pirated. He bought it and we share it for LAN games. I bought Trinity recently, but we still use the vanilla sins, since he doesn't have Impulse.

Tell him he should get impulse. tell him, it's free, quick, and safe for his computer. i haven't had any problems, and I've been running it for more than a year.also, it might be possible to download the update to usb instead, i don't know. also, it does the enitre update for you,no opening files and copying or whatever. all you do is download and it does everything else

Yeah, he got it earlier. We didn't have the CD case with us, we were at my house, and so he decided to register it later and we played a little while. Hopefully this will allow me to just run mine through Trinity and he can run through Vanilla... They're still compatible, right? If I select the "Play Sins" option in the main menu, it will go to vanilla?

Trinity can certainly play with Vanilla, but you need to have the same version. And as you really can't downgrade to 1.05, that mean your friend is going to have to update to the latest version, 1.191.
