Can't activate on new computer

My Alienware died after five years and I had to buy a new laptop. I got a HP Pavilion dv7 entertainment 17 inch laptop, but when i have tried to reinstall the programs I get a "could not run SDActivate,exe. Try running as admin." I finally got the original Solar Empire to run with the CD that I got when I bought the program. But I downloaded the two add ons from the web. I have registered on the Impulse site, but I still can't get the program to run. Need some help. I am running Windows 7.

Should work:

In Impulse, click the blue question mark button in the upper right. Click on Register a product with Impulse. Find your serial. Go to the Sins installation folder. Run SDActivate.exe and put the serial in there.
