ok my game starts freezing after about 5 and a half hours into the game. what wierd is that this has never happened before. this upsets me cause i can not finish games. i always used to play in the largest single star map and never had problems.
I think I found your problem.
If you play a single game for long enough, eventually there will be so much stuff for your computer to process that you'll start getting very severe lag, and if it's overwhelming enough the game might just freeze up entirely.
Don't know what version you have, but start getting rid of strike craft, mines, and entire factions like the pirates, followed by one of the other three. Also unpin everything from your empire tree. If you have fully developed defenses on planets that are far from your front lines and never get attacked, reduce them to the absolute minimum. If you're not playing against any TEC with the rebel research done, you can likely get rid of all defenses not on the front lines.
Basically, help your computer out by getting rid of as much as possible. 5.5 hours in, you should be plenty strong enough to start assaulting enemies and wiping them out. The less you all have, the better your PC will run.
but the weird part is this never used to happen before up until recently. i was able to have all that and had no problems. and my laptops very good i had it custom made 3 years ago. think it could be an up date that may have caused the lag, or perhaps an update that could fix it? thanks for the help guys. o and i also updated my game to v1.33
