ok - so, I'm uploading 2 more.
Let me give you my thought process quickly (because I'm going to scan a few more vids for content). here's what I do. I record a good chunk of our games online. Its as simple as pressing f12 whenever the game starts. Sometimes the LoL client crashes and then crazy things happen, so I don't capture when I think I am... mostly it works ok though - I use bandicam to capture vid)
short side discussion on bandicam. It's better than fraps because it compresses the videos on the fly. With fraps for a 60 min game, I'm looking at a 300+ gig file. With bandicam, I'm looking at 6 gigs with similar quality. You can record 10 min clips for free with bandicam (so try it), but it does cost $30-$40 to own - same ballpark as a licensed version of fraps.
ok - So, I look at what I get from my recordings. Then I drop them into windows movie maker and come up with clips. I'm not exactly putting a hell of alot of effort into it. I'm quessing its around 12-15 minutes per short clip. I could probably do better, but I'm just sorting things out.
Any thoughts on how to make the content better. Thoughts + help works best, though. The only blahblah I've heard is that they are too short... and its true - they are short, but the content is at least amusing. I could flesh things out at the beginning or the end with and intro or outro, but that's all I can think of. Anyway, I'll likely have a few more shorts to post tomorrow.
Here's my big plan. Once I have enough good clips, I'm going to go a little viral and get a good following. I have enough connections to pull that off, but only once I have some solid content that LoL folks would dig. I'm also looking to turn pete into a little bit of a star.
