I don't care for the diplomatic art of diplomacy...
Not quite what I was thinking of. The more moddability has to do with the ability to define factional relationships which doesn't exist with Entrenchment. Hence you'll get the flood offering cease fires to Forerunners, etc.
Also, many new conditions, modifiers, etc were included that add new potential to mods.
more important is that a lot of the TSOP is included in diplomacy along with a bunch of Stardock own optimization
Most the optimization was engine related with Diplomacy. They did fix some of the errors we found in the meshes and entity files. In fact the developers have disagreed with the all dds view in TSOP and apparently made no reduction in meshes.
As stated Stardock's optimizations improved the mods memory usage (~1.3gig) and definitely made it more smooth somewhat limiting the benefit of TSOP except on lower end systems.
well, whenever Rebellion comes out, just add 5 months and then modding can start.
I can imagine, it was enough of a long time between the 7ds previous release.
