Powerful enough?

amd laptop

Hi everyone

i was thinking of getting a new laptop to replace my nv78 from gateway, which i play sins on with an intel GMA (everybody shudder)

I was thinking of getting an amd a6 fusion laptop, (a6-3400m processor, 1.4 GHz processor, quad core, 6520g graphics)

would this processor be enough to run sins of a solar empire? i have heard that sins of a solar empire is a single threaded application, and thus it would be better to get an i5 (dual core, 2.4 GHz, hd 3000 chipset)

both video chipsets will work great for sins, it is just a debate over the processor.

I know for a fact that the Graphics chip is more than powerful enough, my only worry is the processor. i have read many reviews aboutthis chip, and it seems to perform very well graphically

Furthermore, has anyone had experience using these with sins of a solar empire?

Go with the i5. You are correct about Sins of a Solar Empire only using 1 core.

Solid advice.  A 1.4 will be a real dog, even on medium maps.

My budget gaming laptop has an i5, unless you only play on the huge maps with 9 unfair + AI that will be more than good enough. And even if you do like those maps, with the right settings you can probably do those too.
