Low quality graphics.. help

Ok i need help, i know when the game came out on my old PC the graphics were MUCH better than this. So i bought the game on steam so i could get the 2 expansions.. but i can't for the life of me fix the graphic issue.. anyone know what to do to make it better? This is kinda bad. Its on highest setting now.. hell if i switch to lower it doesnt do anything so i assume it default to low and i can't get it to higher.

Any suggestions or were the graphics always this poor, look at the planet.

No they most certainly weren't that bad, even if I personally have never liked the Volcanic planet. ;)

The only thing I can think of is the standard advice of updating your graphics drivers. Do those kind of glitches appear on everything or just planets?

Typically, I have to close out the game and restart it if I've changed the quality of the textures being used.  Some will update on the spot, others wont.  At least that's how it works for me.  Fortunately, you usually only have to do this once to get the settings you want.

It is like this for everything, i just used the planet as an example. the ships are ridiculous looking lol.. my drivers are upto date.

It looks like the textures aren't being swapped out. Try deleting your settings file (location is in the readme.txt) and see if that resets things. If you still have issues, please email [email protected].
