Blue Screen upon changing resolution on PC

Every time I try to change my resolution in sins, my computer bluescreens. I would like to play on fullscreen.

 

Why is it doing this?

EDIT: apparently it only does this when I try to change to the highest resolution setting. It just caused my computer to not start up and have to run the repair utility. This is really annoying..

 

Also, sometimes it doesnt even start up. It just comes to a black screen and stops responding.

WHAT is your computer configuration ie motherboard, video card, RAM & driver versions?

Something similair happens to me.

My standard resolution is 1920x1080. Whenever I try to set Sins Trinity to this setting, the game crashes and saves a minidump.

I have the most recent version of Trinity and I'm running through Impulse/Gamestop.

Any ideas what to do?

Intel Core i7 (2630QM) 2.00 GHz processor

6GB Ram memory

NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M videocard

 

Drivers are up to date as far as I know.

the current nvidia drivers(whql) is 285.51, but some people have reported that the beta drivers (291.15) have helped them with another game on laptops.. it might be worth trying the beta drivers to see if they fix the issue for you.

In the Properties menu from the NVidia drivers, it says the verion is: 8.17.12.6874.

Doesn't really correspond with what you've been saying.

I also just noticed my laptop ALSO includes something from the Intel HD Graphics Family. 

I'm currently looking at the ASUS website for drivers and at the NVidia. I'll let you know what happens.

Doesn't work for me... I updated the driers recommended by ASUS and I updated the drivers from the NVidia website. Still get the exact same error. It sucks I have to play in 1600x900.

Any other ideas?

did you try the nvidia BETA drivers (latest version is 295.51) from the nvidia web site?

edit, might also be an idea to uninstall all toolbars as they usually load during boot AND remain in memory the entire time
