Ability to target Subsystems on Titans?

I haven't been playing sins much these days but I recently started playing Nexus/ HomeWorld 2. So when I heard about Sins: Rebellion I thought they would add the ability to target subsystems like engines and weapons on Titan ships. Although I can understand you can't add the complexities that Nexus offered (and to be fair Nexus was brilliant but hard at times) but if Star Wars: Empire at War can add a feature like that to generally target subsystems, then i think it makes sense for targeting huge ships like the Titans. I understand them not adding the feature for other smaller vessels, its too much to micro-manage in a game as vast as sins but from what I read about Sins: rebellion (I haven't delved to much so please correct me if I'm wrong), they are adding a lot of great content but regarding the Titans, I'm a little disappointed that essentially all it is, is a really big powerful ship/carrier.

They said in one of their interviews it is not going to happen (I think it was because they would have to do a lot of reworking on the code to implement something like targettable hardpoints on ships). Though I admit it would be extremely nice if they would add a feature like that.

Aww damn, I should of read up on it some more. Though it would have been a fantastic feature to have. The rest of the game looks great so we have a lot to forward too. I guess I'll have to get my hard-point fix else where lol :). Thanks for the reply.

Big Fan of Homeworld 2, and yeah it would be great to disable engines or targeting/weapon subsystems, it would add a more tactical feel (not that it doesn't have already).

You know, I wonder if it can be set up where you have the option of hitting x number of buttons, and choosing between which passive ability your weapons have toward titans - stop/slow movement, shield debuff, weapons debuff, etc.

That method might not require the major code rewrite (or it might still.  I'm not particularly familiar with code)

I love HW2 to as well. Yeah that might be an idea, it will employ different level of tactics against Titans. I'm not entirely sure how easy it will be to code.

You will probably need to do quite a bit of modifying to the engine to do so.

I like this idea as well.  I tried to mod something similar. You can't specifically target systems but it is possible to add abilities to simulate damage. For example, when the ship is 60% damaged, set the speed to 0 to indicate engine failure.  The problem is systems will always fail in the same order.

I find X games so complicated that I always end up ejecting out of my spaceship lol. We can hope that they add debuff somehow to titan but I think SteelFin has the right idea in modding in the method suggested. something to consider I guess
