semaz, I have the beta, BUT it does NOT have a convertdata in it, so eve I can not generate a set.sorry.
Also the problem with the beta is that it only has the TEC units in it. So there won't be much to mod, although it would be nice to see what is different from Rebellion to Diplomacy even it is just the TEC side we are looking at.
I'm still asking for the particle files, if someone is willing to give them to me, as I can probably use them even if they are unconverted.
krdax, I am preparing an archive of the unconverted particle, pipeline, textureanime & texture folders from the beta's game files, but it looks like it will be a large file for the max compression winrar archive.
edist finished creating the archive, and it is 574Mbytes.

edit 2 it looks like it will take about 18 HOURS to upload the rar to my dropbox

I know modders are excited to see what we can do with rebellion, but isnt it a little too soon? Cant it wait till the rest of the factions are in game? Plus so much can change between the beta, and release version.

If they are planning on releasing the next two factions biweekly, we have two weeks to mod the Tec before we move onto the next faction so by the time the game gets released in six weeks (quite ambitious right now considering the state it is in) we would have the mods ready to roll, perhaps after a few more tweaks.
just to confirm, the entity files and mesh files are uncovertable right now correct? because I've been trying to convert them using a number of ways to no success?
Well, this is beta. There won't be any use modding anything until there is a dev.exe in the final release comes, then the first two patches to fix what wasn't fixed in final... then perhaps another patch about month after modding starts that requires modders to start things over. 7DS is just gonna have to wait and then get races in one at a time.
barkodia, I also have not been able to convert the entities OR any other file to text mode. mostly because there is NO convertdata with the beta so far.
These are hardly proper conversions, but they are quick ones, to give you some idea of what you'll be able to do. I would assume the other titans are at least slightly out of date. I assume other people have done this then selves, but if you cba then, this an option. I assume some proper work through could clear it up, but iv got to sleep, so il leave it to someone else, or do it later.
It's a pain in the ass, but you really don't need the reference files to rebuild most of it.

Thus we discover code for faction splitting in game! Any new functions in a new file, well... You're doomed there. But for now, much of the alterations can be discovered via file replacement. Stick the old diplomacy version in, and walla, it throws up missing lines and alterations.
Easy? Not in the slightest... Doable though.
Thought about doing that...good god though it would be awful...
