Novalith Cannon Spamming by the AI

OK, I got my first taste to playing the Rebels against the Loyalist on Cruel Aggressor tonight and it was very disapointing.

The Novalith needs to be toned down, the AI just kept building these and spam firing them.  It was rather rediculous actually.  There's no hope of winning a game if you can not defend against the Novalith Cannon.  I would suggest that the Shielding you can research and put around a planet have the ability to also block shots from the cannon to protect your planets.

Otherwise, when this game goes live I will again reduce the Novalith Cannon to an interplanetary defense Ion Cannon as Ive done in my past mods.

Or at least set a limitation on how many of these cannons can be built.

I can understand people not liking superweapons on the grounds that they don't like late-game I-WIN buttons, but in Sins, the only one that fulfills that role is the Kostura and that's not the one that people complain about because the AI sucks at it and doesn't know how to use it.

Yep. Personally I really don't feel like they're "I got this first so you lose weapon." They don't cause enough havoc early enough for that, it gives you time to counter with your own superweapon or take out the opposing one (with the exception of the Kostura in MP, although havoc doesn't equal win). Besides I find I can take them out (as TEC or Vasari) before they get their second shot off.
