Ragnarov (TEC Rebel) Titan problems

First of all it suffers from the same problem as the Ankylon when it comes to weapon ranges but as Yarlen stated it affects all ships and they are working on it, so that's redundant.

The main problem I had with it besides that is that two of it's abilities if left on autocast appear to never get used. I never once saw it use Explosive shell or hmm can't remember what it's called now, scatter shot? Something like that anyway. It had no problem spamming sniper shot once I got it, but the scatter shot I had before everything else and it still never used it even when it was the only ability.

That said, I think I've found my new favorite titan, this thing is amazing and literally bristling with weapons. Love it.

It uses Snipe for me about 70% of the time. It uses Explosive shot maybe 20% and the Scattershot like 10%. Snipe is just crazy awesome.

I've seen this too. I think part of the issue is that Snipe has a huge range (it out-ranges the main weapon banks) but the other abilities have a shorter range.

 

Try ordering your Titan into closer range combat and see if it uses the other abilities. My problem is that by the time I close in on anything I've burned all my anti-matter on snipes. ;^_^

 

PS. Scattershot is pretty cool too. -5 armor AOE :D I've never put more than 1 point in it though, the scaling just isn't there.

My problem with the close range abilities is if you try to pick a group of dudes, the titan takes forever to turn so when it does shoot, it's only like two dudes that get affected.

 

I just leave it on autocast. 4 snipes is 4 dead enemies in my book. Maxed out is like around 10 shots. Yeesh.

On preference of snipe...

Snipe has the lowest CD and antimatter cost, so if the antimatter reserve is running on dry, it'd always be the first to pop. Second, it SEEMS like the titan considers the number of enemies before firing explosive shot. It's always on cooldown for me (well, as long as the antimatter holds) in big, fleet battles, but pretty much never fires when the titan is in smaller skirmishes. If I'm not just imagining that, double thumbs up there. No real experience with scattershot, so I can't comment.

On a related note, am I the only one that really wishes they'd change the names of the Ragnarov's abilities? It feels too much like a hunter in space, and I've started calling "Snipe" "Aimed shot" in my head. I'm terrible at names, so doubt I have any better suggestions, but still.

better than when in alpha when "Snipe" was "BOOYAH" and the sound was "BOOYAH, HEADSHOT!" and most of the sounds were Duke Nukem.
