Rebellion Choppiness

As the title says, I'm experiencing strange choppiness every several seconds while playing rebellion. The system will hang for half-a-second or more before jolting back into smooth performance. It isn't behaving like "normal" graphics or cpu lag, IE: the framerate is perfectly smooth otherwise. However, this is making it very difficult to even want to play with the constant micro-interruptions of flow.

OS: Windows 7, x64

Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5700, 720 Mhz, 1Gb DDR5

CPU: AMD Phenom II x6, overclocked to 2.7 GHz per core

RAM: 8GB DDR3

It may be related the issue everyone else is getting.  We can ask them to release their current patch in hopes having that one issue fix vs releasing 1 big patch every 2/3 weeks

Well, I can say for sure that I have never had this happen since I started playing the beta.  seems only some do.

I have the exact same problem as described in the OP. Though it only happens to me just once or twice during a four hour or so game, this is still annoying. Happened after a Diplomacy beta update once as well and I believe it has something to do with AI decision making.

I hope they will fix this quickly. This is really annoying and game becomes unplayable. :(

I have noticed this happens most frequently when playing as the TEC rebel faction, just figured I would throw that out there.

Occasionally an issue for me--turning off autosave seems to usually fix it.
