In Trinity I have noticed that my allied AI player sometimes built a starbase in one of my wells which was adjecent to an enemy well, when I hadn't got a starbase there myself.

It would be nice to send a 'Build Starbase' mission to allied players though. On the other hand, you should only ask Ai players to build starbases in your gravity wells in locked team matches. Or they might just be used against you later in the game.
