Did an update to Rebellion happen?

I have the beta pinned to steam, which is on the start menu in windows, so when i clicked instead of the little bar saying lauching Rebellion i got a box which contained a staus bar that is filled up in blue bars( no clue if the game updates like that) and i below was a update news button, play game button, and close button.

1.Is this how Steam updates games?

2.Did Rebellion update?

3. IF so what did the update contain?

note : the version number is still v.0.60

Mine did nothing.

That blue bar can be anything, usually steam installing something. If an update occurs, you will see DownloadIngEd over 9000 items at the very bottom of steam. :ninja:

Thanks, i have never used steam and am so far unimpressed with the limited options compared to impulses options regarding downloaded games  and login options but i admit Steam has a higher fan base and user community with more games offered.

Probably just Steam updating itself. Separate from a game update.

Well, Steam have more features that impulse but plenty of then are not "option"... "option" mean having a choice...

Because it is a capitalistic concept that attempts to control you by limiting your spending options by being able to only go through it.

or you could just buy the games at stores, download and import to the steam library as i have done to Trinity.

Doesnt have to be digital

Unfortunately it seems Rebellion will be download only.

That's one of my many issues with Steam, which I despise. I wish they'd have stayed with Impulse.

Impulse was terrible, the update mechanic (automatic) on Steam is a huge improvement.

this. all the steam hate on here is baffling me.  Don't know how long most of you have been using it but imo it's a great medium. plus they have amazing sales.

you can absolutely turn off updates to your games in Steam..  but good luck playing with anyone else since your copy will be out of date.  Steam is not a bad medium, its easy to use,  non inter-feral and as someone else said, they have some really great sales.

I find that 99% of the hate steam gets is from people who haven't bothered exploring what settings are available.

I say it virtually has the monopoly on PC games distrubution. Note I did say virtually, meaning not completely I know there are other platforms such as Impulse/Gamestop/whatever-it-is-called-now, Origins, self-distribution, other methods, etc.

Like Apple and tablets and iPods and stuff.
