Quoting KarlBar99, reply 13haha, good old tweedle-dum and tweedle-dee. (Yes thats those two mecha's names, enjoy a good chuckle).
Well, the idea was that in place of nerf boarding like it have happen now, keep it like it was in reb 0.60 ... but maybe add a cap/titan research who allow to somehow partialy repulse boarding party... not something related to hull or shield...
Quoting KarlBar99, reply 13I admit a part of me would love to attempt an andromeda mod for sins.
Was already attempt long time ago... i have maybe model 10 or more ship for the mod... but the Team leader have not make his job and the mod have die... as the Nova bomb, make them a ability using AM and antimatter can only be refiled at special station... for the magog worldship, Rebellion will be perfect, with one of the Vasari titan who can be used as homeworld and able to "eat" resource from planet...
Pretty sure that once Rebellion is released, modders will adapt actual mod and certainly use the new possibility that rebellion offert... now, without source files or convert.exe, it is difficult to see what is possible or not...
I'm pretty sure the game dosen't suport defences against boarding. Whilst we'd need a better look at the code to be sure i get the impreshion that it simply flips the ownership and applys a heal if the target dies under the effects of the debuff. The only kind of defence would be somthing that denied it entierly, rather than a resist % chance.
As for the mod. I'm curious as to what ships you actually modelled?
I also don't think your thinking nova bombs or the worldship through, between "The Widening Gyre" and "All Too Human" we have a minimum size of 4 light minutes for that thing, thats like from the star to the pirate base at the minimum, (it's bigger than the orbit of mercuary in fact). And Nova bombs in sins would be impossibble to balance sicne all you'd have to do is secure one star system, then nova bomb the others ot of existance, none of the non-custom maps have more than 5 or 6 stars, so you'd only need 4 to 5 nova bombs to kill everyone else. There's just no way to balance that kind of firepower. Sure, with rebellion you could code them, they'd just never be balanced.
@Sinperium: Whilst i'd still consider that a fair way too good, it's at least vaguely balanced in that it dosen;t obliterate everything in the system. But that still makes it a hefty toning down compared to the show.
