Yes, it is possible to unlock the other factions in a few ways, but this causes a few problems for the developers.
For one, you are spoiling yourself. You will be exposing yourself to techs and ship abilities that might get changed or even completely removed. Another thing is that the developers are, as of now, in the debugging state where they care more about how the engine works rather than how a faction plays. Sending info about how certain techs for the Vasari Loyalists are overpowered or bugged will cause issues (and they are). For one, you are cluttering up the fourms with information that the developers have as a second priority, and second, the other factions are still not done(I.E., Vasari Loyalist Titan uses TEC weapons with Advent graphical effects.). The developers know this, and making a post about how tech and the like are bugged just waste their time. Third, you will be basically telling everyone on the fourms how certain factions play, causing massive spoilers.
