About the Novalith spam

If they have novaliths, their planets will be less guarded.

Make planetary shields on all planets = novaliths are near-useless

That is all.

Isnt that the point.  Switch to a different strategy

first of all: not every race has shields

second: if the ai learns to shoot all novalits to the same planet you still have a problem.

Auxiliary Government (and it's equivalents) ignore all damage, even when the planet's health reaches zero. So by building a Starbase with this upgrade, you fix the Novalith threat. Though building star bases on all of your planets is kinda suxxy...

You just said two things that should never be in the same sentence. AI and learns.

I have seen the Ai appear to copy my tactics, once novalith spam started I built SB with the government upgrade at the planets I cared about. When I countered with my own cannon spam the AI for the first time that I had seen started doing the same thing, build starbases with the government upgrades as well, a behavior I had never before seen the AI do in sins.

Also the AI can shoot all the cannons it wants to at a planet with the SB government upgrade, it won't help until the SB is destroyed.

I find the "endgame" weapons in Sins very underwhelming. I don't know about you guys but .... I find them to be one of those "Oh, I'll build them for teh lulz" more than "I'll build them because I need them"

I might be doing it wrong but IMO the endgame tech needs something better than what's on offer currently. To be perfectly honest, the Nova cannon and it's cohorts should have just been Titans in the first place, since Titans are wayyyyyy more interesting than a static gun emplacement you can fire every couple of minutes and wait for it to connect with a planet insta-neutraling it.

They are a minor inconvenience more than anything else to me.
