More Bugs

I am into my 10th hour of playing a huge game with my buddy.  Here are some more issues that we ran into:

1.  My rebel titan does very little damage with Snipe.  I have three levels of Snipe and Overcharge.  It is supposed to do about 6000 points of damage.  I get about 500-600.  Horrible waste of tech and resources, at the moment.  This happens when shooting at other Titans and at Cap ships.  Probably normal ships as well, I was just noting this when my titan was engaging an enemy titan and fleet.

2.  In the game, I saw instances of enemy structures and ships with more Hull than their max.  There was a colony ship with 112% hull.  Another time there was a structure with about 110% hull.  Don't remember what it was though.

3.  A pirate base owned by my buddy had some rebels come to it and I got a message that my planet was under seige.  Quick jumping via the message interface showed it to be the pirate base he had taken earlier and some ships had jumped in. Not MY planet under seige.

4.  Ships cannot attack resource mines in locations without a planet such as asteroid fields, space junk, and nebulas.  My titan was in a space junk location that had a mine and it was firing at it and of course doing zero damage.  But it was using its snipe and antimatter uselessly.  **  I think that mines in ALL locations should be fair game as they are in planet wells to attack.  **

5.  My rebel titan was going after a cap ship, this happened several times, and firing its missile barrages.  The missiles could barely catch the cap ships.  I fact the cap ship was able to almost cross the entire gravity well by the time my missiles finally caught it - as it slowed down to jump out.  The missiles should definitely be faster than the cap ships at least if not most ships.

6.  My titan finished a battle with another titan and cap ship and won...no thanks to the broken snipe function, and was damaged and with low shields.  I was watching and the passive regen was not working...or so I thought.  After some time, I saw a huge jump in shields, almost double in one instant.  They were at about 2700 then later after some time and me watching, it jumped to 5400.  Strange!  Is this a bug as the hull and shields to not continually regen like other ships or is it intended to help neuter the titans somewhat?

Finally, some things I think should be added.

1.  Because stars have certain properties, like the blue one in our game disables passive regen, it would be nice that if you highlight a star, other than getting its name, it would describe it attributes.

2.  I think that resource mines in ALL locations should be fair game as they are in planet wells to attack.

3.  Since there are now two factions for each race, how about a way to know what faction each player is in the diplomacy window.  As it is, they are all human and you cannot determine what faction unless you meet some of their specific faction related ships in combat.

Thanks.

Good idea with those star attribute descriptions, i built 2 Orkulus SBs at a blue star recently and watched them die, as they would not repair themselves. Then i found out it is the star. Actually i have no idea, what are the other star types attributes, does every type come with some kind of downside, so you cant just build ultimate 4 SB combo and be cool with it?

There is one star that boosts shield regeneration as a secondary effect. I believe it is the yellow star. I once made a small list of all star types and their passive effects on ships and starbases, but I don't remember where I post it.

You can select the star just as if it where a planet and it shows up there as an ability, still a good idea though :).

Also 4. is intended, there are specific ships, (colony for TEC and Advent, scout frigates for Vassari), that capture these. If they could be destroyed they would be impossibble to aquire after the first time as you can't build logistics structures in uncolonsised gravity wells.

dont forget shield mitigation. it max at 75% so only 25% of your damgae will come trought. if u calculate the damagmodifiers in, you may come to such an ugly damage. i think at shoul at least have 1000-1200. but i dont know the modifiers.

This happens when you capture a ship from a player that has done more health research than you have. There are also some abilities that can increase health among maximum, but I don't think the TEC have any.

The real bug here is that ships should not waste combat abilities on invulnerable targets. This has been an issue since Vanilla Sins. The neutral extractors are supposed to be invulnerable so you can use your colony frigate to capture them.

You can do this. Once you've explored a star's gravity well, click it to see what abilities it has just like one of your ships.

Actually this is a graphical issue. The damage is instantaneous. The graphics of the attack is delayed.

close.

First. all abilities get a .75 modifier vs titans and caps. then shield mitigation. and then armor... 20 armor will 1/2 damage recieved.

so 6000*.75 = 4000*.25= 1000*.5 = 500 damage.

Then you got abilities like group shield or whatnot.

I noticed a very minor bug whilst playing the beta last night. When you zoom towards a planet which has ships going about its surface there is usually (in trinity at least) a sound effect for these ships. In rebellion however, it does not exist. This is a minor annoyance but I found it to be a quite snug feature in Trinity. Not sure if the removal of this sound is intentional though.  :|

Edit: Also, not sure if I should've made a new thread about this...

I still hear the sound you mentioned. Strange...

This is indeed a most weird bug. I do not hear the sound no matter the zoom level, and it doesn't matter which save I'm currently playing. Hopefully it's something that will be fixed for launch... :\

I am at the star and clicking in star gives name only.
