[Idea] No More Dissappearing, Reappearing Ships

Is it possible within the confines of the current engine, or possibly future ones, that we can have it when ships are constructed they do not disappear and then reappear in front of their respective yards and instead role out of them? Even Star Trek Armada had this feature, where the ships were sort of put together in the yard and then moved out of them when completed. I always found this a tad bit annoying but its not a major thing. Itd be really kool to watch these ships get constructed in detail and then actually move out of the yard rather than the way they are now.

Thoughts anyone?

It would be a very nice aesthetic feature, but the problem is that if your planet is under attack, you want those ships out of the field as soon as possible. I would suggest the animation of the ships fully getting out of the construction yard be part of the construction time.

I like this idea. I always found it a little weird having my ships being built and then suddenly appearing out of the shipyard when finished.

I agree with Yottsu's point of view, that it should be part of the construction time. So if it took one second for the ship to steer itself out of the shipyard, then take away one second of construction time that it would otherwise spend building and make the moving out of the hangar second of movement part of the construction time.

In the Supreme Commander series, unit construction is fully animated and the units leave their respective factories guns blazing when enemies are in range. Sadly, I think implementing such a feature is not easily done for Sins at this point...

Gameplay is gameplay, it has nothing to do with the aesthetics; the gameplay would be the same if all the ships were different sized boxes with the name of the ship written on the side. While I agree it would look neat, krdax is right in that it wouldn't have any gameplay impact.

Well I guess this is an argument of semantics but games aren't just about unit statistics, balance, and strategy. Even the little things make a difference towards how it is received. I grant that this isn't the most drastic thing to change but it helps a little to make it more polished.
