MAKING FACTIONS AVAILABLE NOW.

MAKING FACTIONS AVAILABLE NOW.

Hello ladies, gents and Dev's.

My suggestion is to make all three factions available now despite a lack of polishing/functionality. Not only would it allow us to have some fun both in single/multi player, but the entire community will be able to help out with the bugs and the overall balance.

Whoever likes the idea say so so this post is noticed.

I would be happy to try the other races.

But I'd rather most of the bugs be sorted out first. Having been involved in the beta for Sins, then entrenchment, then diplomacy and now rebellion, I'm happy with the way they work and trust they will get something out worth testing.

If the TEC are locked out when we test the Advent, I'd be happy with that, and the same with Vasari. Afterall its not a published game yet and I get to tinker with things that won't be in the final game.

I'm a little disappointed I missed the multiple titan exploit, would have been interesting playing with that. Though I did do the spam of corvettes and see them take out many enemy ships (including themselves most of the time) and some of these things won't make it into the game but a cool to try out.

So thanks to the dev's for letting us play while they work. We'd all like you to hurry up, but that only because the game is so much fun :)

Keenly (and as patiently as possible) waiting on the next update.

I see where you're coming from, Yargnit, but if they were really that concerned with having a high quantity of testers, while still getting the data they'd want, there's an easier solution. Just make this an open beta and keep the factions restricted. There'd be a significant influx of testers that way.

Either way, sounds like we'll be getting the factions sooner than I was expecting, so this is becoming moot. Glad to see someone commenting politely, though. I was beginning to think this thread was going to end up locked. O.o

@ OP

The beta is to help the developers improve the game.  I will wait expectantly for each faction to be individually pitted against each other so that the racial battles will be balanced.  Endure with patience, it will take a while.

Yarlen-I want more teaser trailers for the other races so please ask Blair or whoever to make some for us.

I think Yarlen said somewhere else that the reason the beta is restricted is that people who pre-order have an interest in providing valid feedback.  I guess they were worried about trolls saying "OMG the corvettes are so OP and and I can hardly hear them when they are built so please make their construction dialogue louder and more high-pitched". *_*

They aren't just interested in the quantity of testers, but also the quality.

You guys are missing the whole point of what beta testing is about.  They are taking this one step at a time.  They have a guideline on how they are going about testing the game and right now its not so much about balance. its more about compatibility and bug testing for the TEC faction.  If they go opening up the other faction then the Devs will be all over the map trying to isolate bugs and issues.  Right now the focus is TEC, be glad you all are getting to even test the game right now and have access to it.

I want to play  the other factions too, but you guys need to remeber they have a plan and need to stick to it on how they go about getting the testing done.

True and it makes me feel bad. I'm lousy at spotting bugs. :(

easiest way to spot bugs is report anything that feels wonky even if its not a bug :D you never know it may just be :)

Well I've always thought it feels wonky if I lose a game. But I should probably not report that. Not to Stardock anyway.

Hm. Maybe I can use this to chat up a sexy psychotherapist?
