Hello my name is Detrell, this is my first ever post on the forums, I love the Sins of a Solar Empire series and love the direction of Rebellion.
I am going to try to present my feedback in a clear and casual manner to understand.
Also with some personal recommendations/ideas for changes that I hope would improve game play but also compliment time/workload of changes.
Disclaimer: I have only ever played offline and never played a multiplayer match.
Further disclaimer: I have not read other peoples feedback so if mine is similar please forgive me.
Truce Amongst Rogues
I find most of the time when I play as the TEC Rebels I find that I build next to no offensive ships and instead go out in colony frigates and populate the galaxy.
It makes me feel more like king of the space dalliances then a rebel leader who has carefully wheeled and dealed there way to peace. To enable a way to balance out this upgrade, I was thinking make the planetary militia ratio 50% TEC, 25% Advent, 25% Vasari. It is quite conceivable that after about 20 years of war all factions are surely deeply enrooted in every star system, so by diversifying ratio of the planetary militia factions and also making it so the Truce Amongst Rogues upgrade only applies to TEC planetary militia, it will hopefully balance out the upgrade.
Pirate Mercenaries
To me the Truce Amongst Rogues already give you a lot as TEC Rebel player, so why not make it so pirates ally with the player when this upgrade is complete instead of Truce Amongst Rouges; as well as the already everything else in this upgrade.
Militia Weaponry & Militia Armour
I think to keep more with the theme of the upgrade, when complete the player's Frigate Factory gains the ability "Fund the Militia: As isolationism proves quite popular within your empire members of the community who are not quite suited for the military still eager to defend their homeworld step forward in the form of militias.
the costs of the ability is half of all resources and fleet supply the ships recruited, the overall cost of the ability should vary from planet type, but reflect level of ships that unclaimed worlds would have for example terran world would have:
1 Cobalt Light Frigate @ $300 M55 C0 S5
1 Javelis LRM Frigate @ $275 M45 C25 S4
1 Garda Flak Frigate @ $375 M40 C25 S4
1 Kodiak Heavy Cruiser @ $500 M100 C70 S10
1 Krosov Siege Frigate @ $620 M80 C65 S12
If we half the total cost of the ships the ability would be Credits: 1035 Metal: 160 Crystal: 92 Supply: 17 for a terran world.
I dare say replace the Krosov Siege Frigate with a Cobalt Light Frigate or a Kodiak Heavy Cruiser as a defending Militia would not need a Siege Frigate.
The upgrade will apply as long as there are still militia units in the gravity well; I believe the ships should be NPCs with the faction name of [playername]'s Militia sporting white ships with the players icon and copies the players diplomatic relationships and as for the cooldown of the ability I would have no idea how long it should be.
