Gifting problems

Alright so I have a friend who wants to gift rebellion to me, I gave him the link to try to buy the game and he told me.

"OK, I tried that link, I says I can only buy one copy"

And we are thinking of ways to get me the preorder so I can get into beta. Does stardock have any insight into this or any forumers?

Was he using the actual gift option or attempting to check out normally?
