Pre-order discount & Steam?

Trinity via Steam

I have a friend who bought Trinity via Steam to play with us before we get the idea of pre-ordering Rebellion in our heads. Most of us ordered through Stardock before Steam availability, except the one aforementioned. Is there a way for her to get the Trinity ownership pre-order discount? It'll be pretty hard to convince her to buy if not, the main carrot I can dangle over her is the discount, otherwise she wants to wait months for a sale. Bah to that!

You buy it through stardock and activate it on steam.

Yeah, but the pre-order discount doesn't apply via Stardock if you didn't originally buy it from them, no? Perhaps it's exclusive to non-Steam purchases of Trinity... was hoping there was a way to apply the serial number from Steam to a Stardock account to get the discount, but didn't see anything like that when I looked earlier... though I have been known to be blind before, hence my asking here. :P

Well if it doesn't work directly for your friend, I think alternatively you can buy another copy and gift it on steam. I think the discount was only meant for stardock customers though.

if she has a stardock account with trinity on it, you can order it directly from the sins sight and if your loged in you should be able to get the discount.

Registration with us is mandatory to run Trinity (occurs at activation on first run), regardless whether you got it direct, from Impulse, or from Steam. Your friend should need only log into the sins website with the same account she registered the game on after purchase and the discount option should appear on the preorder page.

I am having the same problem. I purchased Trinity from Steam and would like to get the discount for rebellion. I tried to enter the CD key that I have on Steam in the field for serial number to register Trinity but it didn't work.
