Everything that was in Trinity is included in Rebellion. Rebellions adds more but with the added benefit of not having to own any of the previous games.

Just to be clear, all of the content of the prior releases is there, but Rebellion does not offer the separate executables for each that allow for play with others who only have those versions. You'll only be able to play with others who have Rebellion. If you want to be able to play with people who don't have Rebellion, you'd still need to own Trinity (from anywhere, though, not only from Steam).

I LOVE YOU STARDOCK. I finally get the money to get Rebellion and I was almost sick at the idea of having to pay Gamestop a single penny since I bought the original game and expansions pre-Trinity off impulse, and was actually worried I wouldn't be able to play Rebellion if I just bought it from your store. This post means I can finally uninstall that abomination from my computer and never look back. While it may be unfortunate that I cant bring my pre-Trinity copies over to Steam, (don't suppose you would be willing to give me a Trinity key I could use there since I own the game and the expansions already?) the fact I cant play with people who don't have rebellion is not going to be an issue, since everyone I would play with already got it a while ago.

Log in to your stardock account. Check your downloads section. If you have a registered Sins Trinity key, it should be there so you can download it. And the key should be there next to the download. This no guarantee, but there's a good chance it's there so you shouldn't have to buy it again. That's where I found mine when I no longer wanted to use impulse.

Fair enough.. Just bear in mind that if you already have keys for sins, entrenchment and trinity, then you don't need a key for trinity. There's nothing in trinity that you don't already have with those three keys. But even if you had a trinity key from gamestop or retail, you can't use that key in steam. I know, I tried as I had a boxed retail trinity key. But I couldn't use steam to activate it. I only highlight this because if your issue is only that you don't have a trinity key, then don't worry for the reason I highlighted above. But if it's that you don't want to use gamestop, then you make a fair enough point. Keep an eye on steam though. Trinity often goes on sale for only about 3-6 pounds when they run their big sales. You'll be able to pick it up really cheap when that happens. Rebellion is great, but there are still levels of gameplay that you can only find in Trinity. I love both of them. But I often jump between the two games depending what way I'm in the mood to play the game.

Number of allied victors as a victory condition can be set instead of Allied victory on or off. Don't think anything else was removed TBH.

new changes like pacts(other % bonusses IIRC), deliverence engine(soon), maps, and a shitton of changes more i can't come up with atm including every ability having 4 levels on capitals(lvl 6 ability having 2) new techs for each faction, each race divided into 2 factions etc. etc. etc.

Was just going over the "basics". Even then that is quite a bit of difference. Yes new techs, pacts, new researches, Buff's, and debuff's, etc. etc. should have been included but, i didn't want to write a huge wall of text.

I might have worded that badly... I was mainly referring to the style of gameplay. Without the titans. Jumpable starbases. Planets that emit culture themselves. Dual starbases. Extra Caps and Corvettes. Other gameplay tweaks etc.

Trinity is a very different gameplay experience from Rebellion. And as such each game has a very unique feel. That's why I said I love both, but will often jump between the two games depending on the way I feel like playing the game at that time. All I was saying is, it is worth having both Trinity and Rebellion for the reason of each game having a very unique and different, but great gameplay experience. But that's just my opinion.

You really don't need Trinity now. However, Having Trinity will show you how much the game has evolved over the years, and the differences between each version.

Gameplay changed drastically from Original Sins with the Entrenchment expansion. Almost as drastic as how Rebellion changed gameplay from Diplomacy. The only expansion i think didnt change very much in gameplay was Diplomacy. Diplomacy however did fix many issues we were having.

Reiterating my previously stated points, I all of the games that make up Trinity. I know exactly how much has changed. Please stop telling me things I already know. That being said, you have a point bignick277. Played a few games in Rebellion and there is a pretty damn big style difference. And I almost miss not being able to turn off the Loyalist/Rebel bit of Rebellion. However, its "almost" and most certainly not enough to make me reinstall gamestop on my computer. Still, thanks for clarifying your statement.

Not a problem at all. Keep an eye out on steam. You might get a good deal. I don't like gamestop either, so I completely understand that you don't want it anywhere on your computer. Or you could do what I did at one point until I got my steam copy. Install gamestop, download, install and update sins and the expansions. Then uninstall gamestop. Remember, Sins (even if bought on impulse) only requires impulse to activate and download updates. It doesn't require impulse to play at all. So you can completely uninstall impulse from your computer and still play sins and all of the expansions. And don't worry about updates too much... There hasn't been a Trinity update in quite a long time. Hope this helps as a possible alternative for the meantime.

Too stand-alone to me.

I would have bought it if it would be available as an expansion pack thats slightly cheaper as well, but no, now I will have to pay 2/3 of a game I already own a second time. I dont know what all the cheeriness is about, actually i think you either do an expansion or a completely new game, but when combining both its a plain ripoff.

Honestly, this game is kinda like an expansion, but bigger than any of the previous expansions IMHO. Especially seeing the update that just happend(And hoping more like it will come) this will be kinda like a new game. The amount of maps has been doubled I think(Or more), and lots of new features.(Fair enough, lot of the same features as well tho) but it was well worth the money IMHO. Already got 400 hours into the game almost and I don't see myself quitting anytime soon ~addicted
