Beta 2 Graphics Bug?

I have had the Beta 1 since it came out and I have had no problems with it. With the introduction of the Beta 2 however, I noticed a significant decrease in the quality of the graphics. This problem could not be fixed by adjusting any of the settings, and it affected not only the Rebellion beta, but also Diplomacy, which I have through Impulse (gamestop). Upon uninstalling the beta, the problem was resolved, and upon re-installation, the problem was reintroduced. Any help or explanation as to why this is would be greatly appreciated.

I have some now but I don't know how to post them unfortunately. For whatever reason, this time when I uninstalled the beta, the problem did not go away, but I do have pictures which show that the settings are indeed turned up all of the way despite the pixelation most noticeable on the planets.

When making a reply/post, you can just drag the image in question to the reply/post box. For me at least, sometimes when I put a picture onto the forums like this, when I post my reply, the image shows up as text, and I am forced to remove the offending image.

A way you can get around this is to just upload your image to different website and use the insert/edit image button (the button with the tree in it.).

This is a view of the advent ships.

This is the only screenshot I have from beta 1. This is before the issue.

This is an image of a terran planet. Not so good looking.

This is from Diplomacy, and it shows that despite everything being on highest settings, it is still very pixelated.

Another view from Rebellion.

This one is from rebellion, again showing that everything is on highest.

 

Thanks for all the help in getting these screenshots up. It seems tedious, but whatever.

Definitely looks like the game is defaulting to 'low' settings for some reason. Weird.

I would recommend reinstalling the whole game. Make sure you have your video card drivers updated as well. If this issue persists after you have done this, I am sure Stardock would be more than happy to view your dxdiag file.
