I don't know if this is necessary or not, but since there seems to be a lot of people who have this issue or a similar one I will post the fix that worked for me.

This will fix the "Game Currently Unavailable, please try again later" steam error that pops up, as well as get any new updates that for some reason have not downloaded properly. In other words anyone having trouble getting beta 2, this should fix you up also.

Go to the game in your steam library and right click on it, then go to properties. This will open a new window. Go to the "Local Files" tab at the top of this window and then click on "Verify Integrity of Game Cache". After that it should apply the newest update and start up just fine.
