Multiplayer divergence

I dont know if this is a known issue or not, but pretty much every game me and a few friends have been playing rebellion online over the ICO service (gonna try hamachi now), at some point we realize we're not playing the same instance of the game. I invade some gravity well, and we see wildly different things in there. Different AI players are dead for different people etc.

Is this what you call the desync problem in the technical subforum, or is this something else? We never get any error messages, but it has happened with every game we've played with more than 2 people so far.

 Any suggestions are welcome.

Yes, De-Sync. Mainly why when me and a few other friends play, i host from my local computer as it runs smoother and we all get below a ping of 30 where as connecting to a ICO server it's around the 200-300 mark. Horrible atm.

Seems like some are worse than others. I havn't got a single desync in the like the 80 or so hours on ICO. Most of us are running at 40-80 ping.

Where are you connecting from?

We tried a game with hamachi now, and had no problems. The game lasted 4.5 hours, for what it's worth.

 We're in Norway

That explains it:p

Explains what? I had the impression the game was peer-to-peer? We've always had low pings in ICO games, according to the network screen.

We have to communicate with ICO servers in Hawaii or something?

Ok, our first hamachi game with 3 people went fine, but the second one with 4 (the fourth player being in a neighbouring town) desynced very early..

I am also seeing quite a bit of de-sync in MP games, will try Hamachi and see how it goes!

Is this a problem in trinity/diplomacy too, or just rebellion?
