Tec Loyalists have the pirate calling ability

The tec loyalist comm towers have the ability to call raiders too the planet. The ability is however disabled, which is good. However the ability itself should not be there. Just letting the world know.

The TEC rebels can ally with pirates and call them in as reinforcements using the comm center. The ability being displayed for the loyalists is a good find and should be fixed.

Guys its the pirate mercenaries ability. For some reason its on all comm towers instead of being researched to go there.

Really its a bad ability now, it costs about the same as Returning Armada but the pirate ships are not as good. Its nice that they don't spam all of your fleet supply, but is it that hard to make it a "global" ability, where any broadcast center could use the ability but it would reset the timer on all of them? That way the pirates could stay free, which is what made the pirates unique in the first place.

Well I think the point is that, it sets you down the economy path(civilian trees) so theoretically you can go pure eco, spam comm towers around, and buy a crap ton of pirates. But I don't like the randomness of the ability.

With the money to call one group of pirates, you can build around 3 military labs. ;) Much better just to get those for LRFS, Corvettes, Hoshikos and carriers than to use pirate ships. And really I think anything less than 4 military labs mid game is suicide as you won't have a titan.

To address the OP, to fix this you'd need to make a new broadcast center entity that doesn't have the ability and put that as the TEC Loyalist's center, if anyone wants to do it themselves. Because the TEC do not have the research item required for the ability, they will never be able to use it, simple as that.

Like I said it lets them go full eco. But I understand what you mean. I don't like the randomness to the ability:c

More than likely the devs will fix this themselves.

My issues is more with the fact that pirates cost anything at all to call in. From my experience, by the time I have the ability to call-in pirates, their ships really aren't effective in combat other than raids so forcing the player to spend resources on them just doesn't seem cost effective.
