Settings won/t save in Rebellion

Any fix for this? Similar issue for rebellion beta: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/420179.  My diplomacy settings get saved fine. This only seems to happen in rebellion regardless of which screen I set it on. I tried setting in on the screen after the cinematic, while playing single player and multi on ICO but the settings still won't save. 

It's really annoying having to set everything (effects, sound and keymappings) each time.

I have a similar problem but it has to with Steam. It is one of two Steam games I own that has this same problem. It also deletes all of my save games that aren't saved to Steam Cloud and resets my registration status as well. I should use past tense though, because I ran out of registrations (I was being an idiot and I thought that 'Registering' was StarDock's version of signing into your account) and I can no longer pay the game I spent fourty bucks on.

 

Not Stardock's fault, but still extremely frustrating.
