Why bother?

Every game goes like this: Advent players rush to be the first to pop out Discord battleship. First to do so just seal-clubs all the other players. This isn't a "game" so much as "watch a cut-scene of your entire fleet die because you didn't build the latest bullshit unit fast enough." So playing anyone other than Advent is pointless and then it's just a race to get the first Discord. Yawn. Every. Game.

...Hang on a second. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Discord as far as I can tell, it's perfectly in line with the other Advent Capital Ships and fits in with them by filling a niche they didn't have before (pure debuff boat.)

Corvettes, on the other hand...

Learn to fight against it. It fills its roles nicely and it's balanced in its role.

I have no worries for the Discord. I am more worried about corvette rushes for both races.

Also just wait till Vasari comes and owns everything the Advent have.

I wonder why is discord supposed to be special in any way. It's just your average capship.

I would imagine the idea is to take out the enemy capital ship or reduce the effective fighting force with the lethargy ability.

Yes the Discord is a "debuff" boat. It debuffs your fleet by obliterating it in five seconds.

And how, preytell, is she doing that?

By debuffing your armour? She still needs other ships to apply the damage.

By debuffing your weapon cooldowns/ability cooldowns? That's just stopping you killing her, not helping her kill you.

By using Psionic Screa- No one puts points in psionic scream, nevermind.

By using the ultimate? HA! No seriously if it's the ultimate I point you in the direction of the Marza Dreadnought.

take some normal ships against the discord, then send the 50 corvettes in.  Gotta tie up ships like that, then send in the space piranha,

Are you sure you're talking the Discord (new capital ship) and not the Eradica (titan) ? The Discord does nothing that could be described as obliterating an entire fleet in 5 seconds..
