lol, when I play as TEC Rebel, I don't think I ever make alliance with pirates. I use pirates to feed my Titan to lvl.
If you want to kill pirates, you can also 1shot them with a Novalith.
Just saying because atm Advent Rebels are the only race that doesn't have the ability to get rid of pirates easily

The pirate base has 6000 HP. How do you oneshot them with a weapon that does 3500 damage?
You sure about that? I had a Cruel AI killing it with a nova quite early in the game, maybe the hp increases over game time?
Well when your corona is at level 6 it won't have too many problems taking it out in the first place. So I don't see the problem.
Your cruel AI shot the base with tree or four Novas at once, of course that will bust the pirate base. The pirate base is a regular dead asteroid with some boni, one of them are the 6000 HP without having to upgrade. Amongst other stuff I made a thread some time back about how the pirate base needs a planetary shield to better withstand this kind of spam, especially since AIs tend to focus-fire on pirate bases, for whatever reason.

Pirates need some countermeasure against farming titans soon... they aren't really threatening any more, most people seem to be happy to have their titan fed...

If you are playing on 'normal' and that is a challenge the answer is yes. Once you are able to take on and play with Hard+ AI the pirates become less of a challenge.
Early in Trinity when the #1 thread was something like "$%*#@(@( Pirates!!"? Those guys were pretty nasty.
Otherwise not so much. They're really silly with Titans having permanent XP, at this point there's times when I'd actively put bounty on myself if I could just to deny the XP to anyone else. ![]()
I remember times when their raiders would come back to the pirate base on a regular basis and my whole fleet would jump into their well (filled to the brim with ships) and only one or two caps would get back out alive, with most of the pirates being unscratched.
Ya the OMG Pirate Trinity. coop twin repaire starbase could not stop them with a cap fleet in support, they just became insane.
