[Rebellion Mod] Mass Effect mod for Rebellion (Recruiting!)

Hello there people! :)

 

So I was thinking about coming back into the mod territory again, while I did lose the skills on how modding sins works, I did want to ask some things for ideas that I have, and see if it's even possible!.

 

First thing first, ''Dawn of the Reapers'' will still be it's own mod in my eyes :), No competition between each other.

 

1. The Novalith Cannon will be replaced with the Crucible. It will be the Citadel with it's arms open, with the Crucible attached. Normally you see a round go trough space, but that will be replaced with a ''Red laser''.

When the laser hits the planet, all structures and population will get killed. This may seem overpowered, but it will make the way how the game plays more ... deadly, giving the feeling that you fight for survival.

 

2. Harbinger will become the Reaper titan. It will have the ability to indoctrinate a entire planet. (Rebellion has this option, look at the Advents.)

The Reapers use deadly lasers that will rip ships apart.

The Reapers will include: Destroyers, Harbinger, Sovereign, Geth, Collectors for the moment.

 

3. A custom game mode.

The entire galaxy will be recreated, with all the planets including Palavin, Earth, etc. The Reapers will spread from the outer worlds towards the middle. To make it more exiting, the player ''has'' to find/build the Crucible to stop the Reapers.

Why? Well the Reapers will have a health amount that would take to long to deplete with a big fleet. So the only way for you to win is to build units to hold the Reapers at bay until you found/Build the Crucible.

 

4. Balance.

From information, it took about 3 Dreadnoughts to disable a Reaper and kill it. This will be the amount that will come in the mod. Of course when the project is green to go, it may change for balance purposes.

 

5. There will be 3 factions.

The Pirates will become Cerberus, with there base changed into Cronos Station.

The Vasari will become the Reapers.

The TEC will become the System Alliance (Humans)

 

Citadel species is still being looked in.

 

the Advents will be removed???

 

All the idea's shown above is still very early. Its only what I thought about for 2 days.

An interesting idea and I for one am up for it,

 

However, completely removing the advent is a bit harsh. The Advent should represent the Council and be mainly Asari based because the Advent give me the illusion of Asari. For balance, like the Vasari Dark fleet ability, they should have an ability to call a few Turian or Salarian allies. 

 

The Quarians should be added too! :P They should have their fleet, roaming traders of course in-game and they can sell you certain upgrades for ships to make them better. Or you can gain them as allies and have their massive fleet at your side in fighting the reapers. That would be hugely beneficial for you, against them darn reapers... 

 

Being as it is a Mass Effect mod... EVERYONE should be included! :)

 

Addition: Instead of building the crucible/citadel... You should scout for it. I remember in the original Sins, having small hidden systems. And once you find the citadel, the crucible should be an addon you can build once you move, say, a Raloz station builder into the area.

Asari have some amazing ship designs (and honestly, they are as close to the Advent as it gets...TB even mistaked Advent for the Asari in his stream).

 

Turians might end up being too similar to the Alliance (but there is of course still space to creativity).

 

Geth are also rather interesing. And the Quarians' Migrant Fleet have some amazing potential for creative game mechanics.

That idea looks a lot better!.

 

I was also looking in the Quarians yes. In Rebellion the Vasari Rebels have the option to move as a fleet, without colonizing any planets. This should come in real handy for the the migration fleet :).

 

While I haven't refined this idea yet, but Rebellion allows factions to split, so there might also be a option to fleet for example the System alliance in getting the Geth, or the Migration Fleet.

 

It all depends, the idea is still being worked on and your feedback would really help!.

 

Like Nashten says: This mod is for everyone!, and anyone who would like to contribute may join!. Of course some skill is required.

The one interesting thing about Sins of a Solar Empire is Reapers wouldn't stand a chance in this universe.

 

Did the release of Rebellion slow down this mod a significant amount of time? I have been looking forward to it for weeks.

atm I am trying to gather a team to start this mod for Rebellion :), The game is still in beta and the mod tools aren't there yet. This is a good time to gather the team in advance to the release!.

First thing to see how all works, is to make a Reaper with the textures on it, light effect, weapon hard point.

 

Also adding the lasers and other stuff. Of course I need some people with more experience!

I would highly recommend you to join efforts with Dawn of the Reapers Modteam, a mod like this is A LOT of work from scratch

Since in rebellion there is technically six factions wouldn't you be able to put in the Counsel races as a faction, the Systems Alliance as another, Cerberus, the Quarians, The Geth as their own and the Reapers? it might add more work than you want though but still just a suggestion.

      oh and I love your mod idea and cant wait for it to be done! :D
