Multiplayer Games getting un-synced

Unsure if this is a problem specific to Rebellion or if it's there in all the versions, but I'll start here.

My brother and I have tried to play a number of games together on Rebellion. However, for 4 out of the 6 games we've tried playing, the game becomes disastrously un-synced after a few minutes. Sometimes it was small things, like him seeing pirates attacking my planets when I saw no pirates. Another time, on my screen I had colonized 4-5 planets, but on his game I hadn't colonized any and my forces were unmoving.

We could still type messages to each other and see pings, but most of our actions never registered to the other.

We tried at one point each saving the game on our own computers and took turns re-hosting it, however it had no effect, and the game was still completely different for each of us. It makes it unplayable.

Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else recently. Any ideas?

Save your replays and/or autorecords and send them to stardock. De-syncs are difficult to squash mainly because they have a bad habit of coming back from the dead.

Yes, I've seen this happen quite frequently in rebellion.  It isn't a surprise only because Stardock does not care about you or your brother because you have decided to play multiplayer.  Once you bought the game, they expect you only to play single player, and nothing else.  They just do not bother to support the multiplayer community.  Think of it as buying a used car that breaks when you drive it off the lot.

Think I'm kidding?  Look at other multiplayer related therads on the forums

Best wishes, and welcome to the fight against the establishment.

Desyncs are difficult to squash because no one is bothering to send in the save files required for the devs to even begin to look at the issue.

I have had one desync in the beta so far. I sent in my save file. but the other guy did not.

me and my friends noticed exactly the same desyncs and we noticed the following:

playing MP games with premade maps never desync, but playing MP games with custom made maps allways desync.

So probably its a problem with custom made maps, I don't think we need to send the devs any savegames, they can recreate this issue by themselves very easily.

We were not using custom made maps. They were all standard maps that came with the game.

YES YOU DO.

"I'm upset!" "Why?" "The Devs aren't mindreaders!"
