[BUG] Out of Sync (With no warning)

Running a custom map, using Tunngle (as we've had bad experiences with lag using ICO), two players and one AI. Game seemed to be in sync for the first 15 minutes or so then at some point after that, it went out of sync without any indication that we'd lost sync.

We only noticed it had happened when sending envoys to the other player controlled worlds. Had no problems running with the last beta build, only today's build, though that could be coincidence.

It just might be.

Some friends and I had the same issue even on ICO however I turned off Crossfire and fiddled with firewall settings and now it works fine. The firewall settings that were given to Rebellion on Windows 7 were only "Public" access instead of the "Private" network access that is required in my case (and I'd have to believe in many others as well). Maybe give that a shot as I haven't had time to determine if the issue is specifically Crossfire or firewall.

No need to post the same link multiple times. Especially since the data contained in said post does not match Rebellion. The file it asks us to modify does not exist at the desired location with Rebellion.

Thanks for the helpful advice. I shall try modifying the firewall permissions and tell my friend to do the same. I've also disabled the uPnP setting on my router since this incident occurred as I read a help thread from three years ago where someone mentioned that having uPnP turned on seemed to be the cause of their constant de-sync errors. Hopefully one of the two will help.

Updated for Rebellion.

Thank you for that. I shall make the changes they ask for and if my next game goes out of sync, I'll submit an email with the data they would like to see.

Well neither the uPnP settings or the Windows Firewall settings made a difference, still went out of sync after around ten minutes.

The strange thing about it, is that the market, in game chat, announcements about artifacts etc, are all still in sync. But none of our fleet movements or planet visions are in sync... I've emailed our log and save to them so hopefully it'll help them narrow it down. :(

Hmm, not seeing anything. Please try sending again to [email protected] and be sure to zip up the files first - otherwise they may be too large and it'll get blocked. Thanks!

Sorry, hadn't noticed your reply. Have resent the email, apparently clicking the email link in the desync thread sends the email to [email protected], I hadn't noticed that when I sent it at first haha.

I have noticed that which of my computers I'm playing on makes a difference in desyncs. For example, my laptop almost always desyncs within the first 5 minutes of the game while my desktop almost never desyncs. I play comp stomps a lot with a friend and he always uses the same computer, the desyncs seem entirely on my end. I'll try to find some files from a game where this happened and send them over. Theyre from old updates though so I'm not sure how useful that would be.

Well I've just completed my first MP game through victory instead of de-sync. Only difference in our match was that we didn't use a custom map.
