The experience that proved how awesome reanimation is...

I just wanted to share the coolest moment ive had in the beta so far. After playing cat and mouse with TEC Reb Titan (I was playing Advent Reb's of course) I decided the best course of action would be to take out the pirate base, to keep them off my back (i gained no benefit from it since my adversary was immune. I had a Titan lvled to 7 and a decent sized escort fleet (a few mid lvl caps + support) and i had researched all the weapons tech, so cleaning out the pirate base wasn't a problem, despite the massive fleet of ships gathered there. But killing off massive fleets of cruisers/frigs it where reanimation shines. At the next planet over I had a starbase and some defenses built, and just as im finishing up with the pirate base, the enemy Reb Titan jumps in dragging a big fleet behind it (bigger than mine) and begins putting my starbase through the ringer. So whats the cool part? I jump back with my fleet, bolstered by a massive fleet of pirate ships i gained in my assault on the pirates. After shoving a pirate stew down their throat to distract them, i get my big guns in position and take down their titan, and with no escape the rest of the fleet falls too. My base is safe, they are crippled for a little while, and im very pleased with reanimation.

And the icing on the cake...several of those pirate ships ended up resurrected permanently at my homeworld

Unfortunately I don't think that will work by the next version. ;P

It's definitely a bug to have clones getting reanimated permanently.

And I really hope they don't take it out... it honestly helps to define the AR, giving them a really cool factor, comparable (not necessarily in strength) to Truce amongst rogues...

And honestly, it is only ~1 in a 100 destroyed enemy ships that get resurrected at your homeworld... not that bad...

I really like the Advent Rebels kit. But like Goa said most likely they wont stay in the next patch:(

Still some cool tech either way you look at it though!

I always have liked the 'mind' control aspect of units. Which is why I was a fan of protoss from Starcraft 1(dark archons).

says who? if you shoot it down, that's your fault that I now have a permanent ship. The number of times that occurs is fairly low.

I only question whether the reanimation timer expiring triggers return of the fallen as well, as it defeats the purpose of the timer in those rare circumstances. That would be a bug.

just to add to the weirdness, reanimation seems to affect the missle turrets dropped by carrier capitals. They can be reanimated, and then in turn resurected at your homeword. Free permanent missle turret at homworld! :-p

XD that dos sound like a bug, though an awesome one at that.

I just like that I like that I get near infinite free scouts due to losing mine and killing the AI's.

Revenge of the Fallen is pretty nice too, but would be even better if your ships that is reborn spawned in the gravity well that it died in, rather than at your home.

Today I managed to spawn TEC constructor frigates on my homeworld. No idea how that happened but it really made me laugh. :)

That is kind of odd. It must have been both reanimation and return of the fallen working on it, I'm just surprised reanimation worked on it in the first place because constructors usually blow up if you don't control the planet. xD

Wow that is funny. Ive had TEC starbase constructors spawn at my homeworld but not actual constructors, though i have had constructors popped up in the same gravwell due to reanimation only, so that seems pretty feasible

You say bug, I say synergy.

Honestly it's 1% chance of occuring either way, so it's not really OP.  it is however a kind of neat caveat to these techs.

So intentional or not why nuke it?
