Lethal Culture Bug

At some point during larger games on hard or greater difficulty, enemy culture will spontaneously spring up (seemingly from your own planets) and start to spread uncontrollably.  This will continue, undeterred by culture research or any amount of culture-spreading tech or buildings.  Even if the faction that is responsible for the culture bomb is removed from the game, the culture spreads indefinitely until even capital planets fall.  Once this "culture bomb" ignites, victory is essentially impossible.

Whether it is a glitch or an unintended development of a feature, this needs to be fixed.  Culture should not spontaneously spark up across the galaxy and over the course of less than half an hour take over almost every planet I have in over three solar systems.  Even if the Advent do have some sort of auto-culture-spread tech (which I believe they might, can't recall), this is a bit OP, and in any case, crushing the offending faction should cease all cultural influence (or at least halt it).

Fix please.  Also, has anyone else noticed this?

I noticed this too, gave me quite a scare.

However, for me the only way I could get rid of it was by having a broadcast centre in  almost every system.

Yes, this happens in most of late-game scenarios.  I try my darndest to stop the spread to no avail.

It even spreads to me from the other side of the star system and the enemy has no planets close to me.

Makes winning the game hard.

I've seen this too. The only way to stop it was to build a broadcast center on all of my planets before the culture got too far. Baaaad bug.

How can this be a bug, its more of a "feature". So as Advent Loyalist I somehow did this to the enemy AI tonight heheh. Death by pink lines. I find this more enjoyable to the long drawn out fleet battles through hundreds of systems. ;)

I tried the Beta for myself now (finaly paypal, finally), the Advent Loyalist got the research that their Culture is spread from their own worlds.

I havnt seen anything about enemy worlds, so i think its a bug...or i havnt seen the right research

Quite frankly I think this bug rocks. I could even see it being a max rank civ tech legitimately. Advent are meant to be about culture. Seems to be it would be kind of cool to force your enemies to build culture centres to counter your ability to spread your culture throughout the galaxy. Perhaps have planets only start spreading Advent culture if their allegiance is below a certain threshold?

Sounds nice, i like powerfull features :)

it would be also a nice buff for the Deliverance Engine^^
Shoot at a planet and it creates your Culture. if it is another player all of his planets creates this.^^
Nah xD

@Nova
Maybe a possible highend research, T8 or something like that, but not with the actual tech, this would be way to OP.

I have played some rounds with a friend of me (Diplomacy) and the Advent Culture was so strong, that he cant even settle at the same solar system with me.

The advent loyalists have a tech that they can research that's supposed to spread culture from all of their planets automatically. Problem is, it seems they're jumping the gun on which planets they think are "theirs" and so the culture spreads from every planet...

I'm hoping it gets fixed next patch...

Just started a game as advent loyalist and about an hour in i got Global Unity to rank 2, i saw that the enemy planets about 2-3 phase lanes/planets away had my culture coming off their planets. Very weird.. lol

Today I got one planet, the planet next to an AI Home, to fart out 110 culture per second by not doing anything to it. I was ignoring the dark blue AI as my purple AI partner was dealing with his attacks while I pummeled the red AI for shooting me with Novaliths. I noticed I had killed that planet with culture, got a shock when I noticed the culture output, and within minutes I had culture-nuked his entire holdings as every planet that fell began beaming 100+ happy thoughts per second at the next planet. These planets weren't even in the same star system as me.

I think if you're the first to research the "your planets produce culture" tech, you get the bug, but if you research it second or further back, it works as intended.
