Information on AI difficulties and types.

I wonder about what exactly separates the different AI difficulty levels, and especially on which ones it plays on different rules (positive and negative). And also more exactly what difference the different types, anyone have some info on this?

From a handicap perspective, normal is no handicap, I think easy gets few resources, and hard and above get more resources. Also I think Cruel and Vicious get research and perhaps other miscellaneous bonuses, though none that directly influence combat.
