Log on to ICO while steam is in offline mode. You can smurf just as badly as before that way.

I have always wondered about the purpose of smurfing. Infact, in a game with such "high level pros" and also so few pros (as they say) smurfing should be forbidden to good players: it's just a way to cover one's true identity to get an advantage. Mostly, I see it used as a tool to get revenge and/or to devise counters to strategies of players who beat someone who didn't like being beaten.

Of course, as things go, it will be always a widespread habit in all games which allow it. No reason not to say it's a bad habit, though.

Expectations are part of life, I would say. But I understand the point of view you express.

Smurfing is a way to protect your ego--that's all it's about.  It's a weak person's pride crutch in the game.  The only other reason it serves is for in-game trolling because you're a dink.  No other reasons for it.

I play another game where players have their lifetime kill ratios announced at game start and the "serious" players will log off in a game if their ratio drops badly.  They'll come back with a smurf so their cred/rep doesn't drop with the guys they want to impress. 

Back in the day we had an old saying about this.  It was called "lame".

FYI--o disrespect top you Dirty--I see you as just competitive which is fine and I appreciate your effort to get people into the game hard core.

where did you say the .ini file was located at and also what program do i use to open it, note pad? windows word? pdf file? or is it one of those modding tools that IC provides. i always thought that smurfing had  everything to do with steam since steam do carry our profile names and records of our old name that we use to say get away on a vacation from an ordinary world. few reasons why i smurf. 1st is to try something out as far as strategy that i think it might work only if it its worth trying without revealing my name by doing so. the 2nd is to maybe over stack or balance a game that is being played via multiplayer 5v5 3v3 2v2 etc...

talk about violating your privacy, every one can tell who you are specially if you know how to exploit your records lol

Yeah, you can open .ini's with notepad or wordpad; they're just text files with settings variables.  Sometimes you want to make changes to a game's settings when you don't have the ability to adjust them from within the game.
