Version 1.05 is terribly out of date. The latest version of the original Sins is 1.193 I think. You'll need to register you game with the Gamestop download app (formerly impulse) to update your game.
That said, I doubt anyone plays the original Sins online anymore. The core multiplayer scene migrates with each new expansion, so unless you're wanting to meet up with some friends who also have the game I wouldn't count on finding anyone online.
