You are not.

Its just not uncommon for release dates to change so we don't worry about them.

Plus we are having fun playing with the beta.

it's a typo, it is 12/12/12 so you only get a few days to play before everyone goes ape-**** over the end of the world.  Enjoy.

6/12/12 could be June 12 or December 6, 2012 -good luck.

Gaming website systems require a date, so they come up with what they think is a good guess.

It can change at the drop of a hat.

it's 12th June 2012. They just told it in an interview ...

It's sure, it cannot be another date.

You might want to google "valve time" before fortifying your position on that. Release dates are either estimates or goals that the gaming studios set themselves. Both can be missed quite easily by some portion of code going out of wonk or other wierd shit going on.

Other than that: Release date lol. I've been playing the game for weeks now. Do you think I care for the exact date of when they remove the beta sticker from the program and call it finished? :V

Last time I checked, this is Stardock, not VALVe  :fuzzy:

This sounds like it could be in the ballpark at least.  It gives about a month and a half to finish with current fixes, release and test Vasari, fix Vasari related bugs, work out the balance once Vasari are in, and fix any final bugs.

Given the current state of testing and patch releases it seems like the devs could conceivably make 6/12 or within a couple weeks of it.

I just took Valve time as an example since it's a pretty well known term. But the basis appies to any company that is into programming, really.

If you are interested in the matter, the principle behind it is "Hofstadter's law". The wiki entry on it is kinda short, but there are other sources that give a more in-depth look on it.

I would laugh if they actually did that and trolled us.

So when is the last time a game has been released early? By any company?

Why do release dates always go back....

Well, Portal 2.

Edit: I know they intended to release in like December but it got pushed back to April, but when it was finalized, it was released ahead of time.

Fixed that for you.

Half-life 2 E3's official release date is The End of Valve Time, so it'll feel really early when it comes out.

Sadly the End of Valve Time comes after the End of All Time, by means of some inexplicable paradox. So we will never see Episode Three, sorry.

I think it's more along the lines of Valve managing to count to 3 would cause the universe to implode, thus ending time.
