game crashes on start up (black screen)

Hi,

I just downloaded rebellion and was looking forward to be playing the beta, but whenever i start up the game i just get a black screen and the task manager tells me the application does not respond.

My system specs:

Alienware M17xR3

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2201 MHz

8GB Ram

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M

I would be really grateful for any help. I have tried verifying the game cache in steam and restarting, which didn't help.
