Titan feeding

Some people have been talking about various problems which seem to be titan feeding and frigates. Mostly, I think, for multiplayer matches. Dont engage the titan early, dont build many frigates, they are a snack and level up the titan, use pirates to level your titan, etc...

Would change the experience a titan - and only a titan - receives help with this? For instance, decreasing the experience from killing frigates (and maybe strikecraft, who knows), slightly nudging up cruiser experience, and bumping up capital ship and starbase kills? Maybe this would help with the perceived undesirability of frigates?

I am assuming the experience is totalled and divided among experience receiving ships, so just total experience per category, dividing the categories per ship, and then applying modifiers seems like a reasonable code change without a performance penalty - maybe add a couple of O(n squared) operations if I remember my definitions correctly.

It's player error that you fed the titan and you should be punished for doing so. There is no need to change exp values just change your tactics.

Tanky capital ships and bombers are your counters to Titans.

I didn't clarify. I don't have a problem with the current counters, I meant as a game play perspective to keep frigates more desirable. And make it more fun to kill big stuff.

I thought massed corvette hordes were the counter to titans. When it starts to get low on HP and retreats they can chase it forever. Just hope it doesn't get into a grav well with good defense.

Right. So what happens when everybody has a titan and nothing but capships and bombers? What if you can't field as many fighters, and need another way of killing off ships?

The fact of the matter is it becomes an endless loop because of titans.
