I love ponies too, but how did it start up over here?
Some people call me the Space Cowboy.
The "Space Ponies" were a group of early testers(possibly developers) in Sins and loved the game calling their group, "TheSpace Ponies". They have since become legendary figures who's origins were forgotten...until now.
Keep your eyes peeled and you may see the mystical vacuum proof ponies yourself in game. 
No. Magic is chucking a fireball into some jerks face after he insulted your wizard hat.
Never diss the wizard hat

Oh poor, Yellow Ponies with pink hair ponies! I wonder why she cry, anyway in real world I find that horse and ponies is very annyod horse and very rebel, well most of them.
True story:
The space pony came up because of a joke between Yarlen and another Developer. The joke was so hilarious that it spread throughtout the business, and they added it to the game.
They won't tell me what the joke was.

Space ponies came long before this MLP craze. They have nothing to do with that atleast.
And for some reason they like hang out on Pirate Bases and asteroids, so i don't think the Sins ponies are as friendly either 
There is a blog/interview somewhere out there on the web where Brad is quoted by the interviewers having said the "Space Ponies" were a group of devs/testers who loved the game and during the alpha began to call themselves the Space Ponies.
I hadn't heard of the Yarlen joke.
The truth is out there...somewhere.
But the lies are in your head 
Clearly then the space ponies were the inspiration for My little pony. That means Yarlen is directly responsible for all the bronies. We must do the future generations of males a favor and eliminate all those responsible. I hear the Vasari are coming with the special nanites designed for the task next week.
