Because brand recognition/loyalty alone is going to destroy torchlight 2 with it being released around the same time of diablo 3.  Well I suppose Diablo could faceplant- but being it's done by blizzard that seems unlikely(Blizzard doesn't do innovation much, but they are extremely good at putting out games with a high level of finish so they never really "fail").

Which is a pity, since I think it will mean Torchlight 2 will be under appreciated.

Which is why Rebellion is coming out like a month or two later. Which is the prime time for people to start looking for new games.

You mean an actual showdown of a massive alien interstellar empire versus a demon?

Diablo gets crushed.

I mean, I get that he's the lord of evil and stuff, but really, what's he going to do against a kilometer long frigate with guns that deals almost a hundred megatons of destruction every second and has both shields and hull designed to withstand that kind of punishement?

Let alone an entire fleet of these...

... and then a 20km Titan packing several times over that amount of firepower, a dozen 5km long capital ships also packing massive firepower, massive star bases, etc...

Not to mention in the end Diablo gets killed by one lone hero, so yeah.

He won't even scratch the paint job on a scout frigate.

Diablo can have the planet for all we care. Vasari will just eat it.

That too. Or the TEC will blast it to hell with Novaliths. Or the Advent will convert it to the Unity then use it for Wail of the Sacrificed.

Moral of the story: aint nothing in Blizzard's games that could hope to win in a fight against the Sins guys.

I elected not to buy Diablo 3 when I realised that Torchlight 2 was more like Diablo than Diablo 3 was.

I just stopped paying for Blizzard products entirely.
