Occupation Victory and the AI

Hi guys,

so i played a game against 5 hard AIs in Beta 3 yesterday. The only victory conditions were Capital Planets and the Occupation victory.

Well aside from the fact that i were not much impressed by the AIs performance in general, it did not care at all when i took the artifact planet. The 10min timer  run out and not a single fight happens. Was pretty disappointing actually.

I think once one player takes the occupation planet all other players / AIs should be given the option for a temporal cease fire or some sort to give them the opportunity to go and kill the me. And 10 minutes is too short. It takes alone something like 5 mins to get your fleet over to the star and jump over to the other star where the artifact planet is.

I know the AI has already been discussed alot, but hey before the official release it should at least do SOMETHING (doesn't has to be a genius tactician).

Or should i try harder difficulties? But eco bonuses dont make the AI smart either i guess....

I had an unfair snatch it once, but I received no warning that he had it.  I just looked randomly at the timer and I had one minute thirty seconds on the clock :/

The AI in Rebellion seems to have been taking steps backwards, in that it generally doesn't know how to deal with the new stuff very effectively.
