The Dark Fleet.

OK according to lore most of the dark fleet was destroyed. Now we the vasari have the ability to summon them so the question is, just where has this dark fleet been chillin for hundreds of years and just how big was it.

Anyways on a more serious note I wish the dark fleet ships were a seperate types of ship that cannot be built by the player, this would give them a different feel and make them more interesting.

Phase Stabilizers basically act like a beacon, allowing any remaining fragments of the fleet to join the exodus.

Vasari ships are still vasari ships and if you look at things, they've barely changed their designs in 10,000 years so of course Dark Fleet ships would be the same type as those buildable by the player.

I get that but where is this dark fleet? How big is it? And what have then been doing for these thousands of years? twiddling their thumbs?

Well the game says they had thousands of systems, so MASSIVE? Also not to mention they have cloning and nano technology so floating in space for a few hundred years probably isn't too ludicrous. The thing I personally don't understand is how they can use fleet beacons from possibly 100's of galaxies away yet your ships can only use it in the same system.

That's why it costs money to do it.  You have to turn the dial to eleven.  ;P

I thought phase space collapsed when you turned it passed 10.

Not if you couple your oscillation overthruster with a flux capacitor.

i dont remember the into saying the Vasari empire spanned galaxies - Earth so we have to assume trader space is located on an outer spiral. If i recall correctly the Vasi evolved near the core of the galaxy and where more advanced then every single race they encountered and they just expanded outwards away from the galactic core - they then started to lose contact with their core/central worlds the fleet is running away with the "darkness" following them

I think he meant to say systems, not galaxies.

I got the idea that the Dark fleet traveled with the Exodus fleet.  That they are chilling just out side of Trader Space. Which is were I believe a portion of the Exodus fleet still is.

Definitely like this. Especially considering all we ever see is skirmishes. The Vasari aren't one complete force anymore. The fact the Dark Fleet has scattered remnants proves this.

I thought that the description of the tech said that the remains of the Dark Fleet are rebuilt? The description of the Returning Armada tech (Not the Dark Fleet tech, though it effectively says the same thing) is "Grants the Returning Armada ability to Phase Stabilizer structures, allowing them to contact remnants of the Dark Fleet and enlist their aid for your empire."
