Hello, this is the thread where all the gathered information about the Collectors Edition for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is posted.

Feel free to post new, credible information and I will do my best to update this thread as information becomes available. Credits to ImperatorPavel, Yarlen and Island Dog for most of this information.

"Considering the limited quantities, I think we'll probably e-mail the existing pre-order customers first and it'll be first-come, first-served. I'll post more details once we tie things down more.
It's resin, actually. Metal would have been very expensive (the model is quite large) and plastic seemed cheap to me.

Existing pre-order folks will get first dibs on Collector's Edition boxes while they last (we're not making very many) at cost. The plan is to make them each individually numbered too.

As a heads-up, because we won't have replacements, the plan is to ship the CE's out via FedEx. Those of you outside the U.S. should bear that in mind because shipping out of the country is ridiculous." - Yarlen

Yarlen directly responded to this statement with "What he said.", confirming that we won't have to preorder the game to get the Collectors Edition. 

To summarize so far:

More than 1,000 CE boxes will be produced

It will cost more than $50

There will be a resin-based Kol model with it

People who preordered will get first pack, the rest of the copies will be available for direct purchase.

Each CE box will be individually numbered

The CE boxes will be shipped with FedEx, the price you'll have to pay for shipping outside of the US will be a bit pricier.

One of the methods of which the CE will be announced is through emails of people who have preordered Rebellion.

Australians and New Zealanders will be able to get physical boxed copies that are just regular, all other countries will have CE boxes.

You will be able to purchase it directly instead of having to preorder the game beforehand.

 A quick preview of the resin-based prototype Kol model that comes with the CE, among a variety of other things. The official Kol model will be machine painted and look far more professional.

This is going to be a CE item, not the box art. Yarlen confirmed this in a Private Message to me which stated. "It's a CE item, but it's not the box itself :)". Art Book? Soundtrack cover? Poster? We'll just have to wait to find out.
