Enhance randomization of positions/Add pre-game position option

We were playing a three star map with two hard AIs and 1 normal AI. In every game, two of us would be placed in a system with the normal AI, and one of us would be placed in a system with the two hard AIs. So we wanted to submit a suggestion to improve upon the randomization of positions.

We also wanted to re-suggest adding a pre-game position option. Sometimes we (and others I've talked to) want to define where the players (human and AI) will start. Forge offers the capability, but having an option in the game would go a long way. Not everyone wants to learn Forge. I plan to learn it, but for those who don't, it would be especially useful. Even for those who understand Forge, it would be nice. The thinking is, I'm building a combat scenario using a pre-made map, and I'd like to define where the contestants in the conflict will be based. I love the strategy behind Sins and learning to adapt to any situation is important. So random start positions can be a good thing, but having a pre-game option would also be nice.

Been requested quite a few times.

THere are a lot of map features that have been requested a few times.

eventually something might happen, but prolly not for release.

We can only hope that it will be added in the future.

Please developers, make it work someday. It is really a necessary feature!

Were you playing a random map? Positions are always random on them. Of course just because its random doesn't mean you can't get the same positions several times in a row.

If its a premade map, then it may just be set up that way.

It was a random map. Ever since then though, any random map has generated those positions, so it seems that it could be improved on a little bit.
